November Board Meeting Minutes 11/20 - 7:31pm CST Attendees: A.Stromgren, R.DiVito, D.Berendes, J.Coleman, J.Rhoads, S.Major D.Roe, J.Baskin & T.Hartwell Approval of 10/9/22 Minutes - Rhoads, Hartwell Additions to 11/20/22 Agenda - N/A Approval of 11/20/22 Agenda - Rhoads, Hartwell Financials * Cash - $12,272 -- outstanding, couple $100 + Youth Night + Portable bathroom -- Training accounted for Dome Ball: * 5 10U players playing with Soderville/Princeton/Champlin @ Maple Grove -- Successful experience, Early games but over has been great and having fun, Great coaches. -- Coaches - Former MLB player + former UofM player * 14U player @ Maple Grove, things have been going well -- first day where we had to add additional players (C.Berendes/R.Coleman) -- Middle School League + 14U, due to the mix of ages there were instances when the mound was being moved due to 12U & 14U. -- As you are under the age bracket it isn't a big deal. -- have fun, it is going well * Some inconsistencies with the 'rules'. * 10U Playing dome league starting in January - all but 1 have registered. -- J.Larson/M.Jiorski coaching * Chris wants to coach a 12U team @ Blaine Feb/Mar under the Speed/Power umbrella - not an SLP team, whoever wants to play. -- We will want to advertise to our families. * 10U is playing Turkey Trot this coming weekend (J.Larson is coaching) Player Progress Cards: * No Updates at this point - J.Rhoads would like to make a final edit. -- anyone can send J.Rhoads any updates/thoughts. Youth Night * All set, J.Rhoads waiting to hear back from from Alicia * Market closer to Parent meeting Spirit Wear * J.Coleman talked to vendor & everyting is ok. * J.Coleman to touch base after the holidays regarding uniforms. -- vendors & research? * T.Hartwell mentioned N.Dufek (Twin Pines Printing) - more conversations. -- T.Hartwell to reach out this week to fact find. Year End Directors ** 10Uc - drop 3rd strike remains for league ** "A" teams discussion based on organization size - more to come. ** MN Softball going to 9/1 age cutoff starting 2024 Panther Gift Basket * T.HArtwell - working on Panther Foundation (2/25) items and is SLPSA interested in donating in 2023? * J.Rhoads motions to do two $200 Baskets. -- J.Baskin 2nds -- T.Hartwell willing to coordinate -- J.Coleman to assist Panther Classic * D.Berendes to start emailing in January * Ideas: -- Expanding to include 8U - Facilities won't change, could use the West fields for 8U - Pros - 8U Involved + Parents for volunteering - knock the rust off and/or expose to the game. - Cons - expanding to two days is problematic based on volunteers. -- Other Options - NOT include 8U, but expand 10U + 12U - Add 8U & expand 10U + 12U -- 8U, 6 teams, two pools was the preferred model -- J.Rhoads likes the idea of adding 8U and potentially adding 10U/12U in 2024 -- B/C Tournament: - do we do keep doing a B/C - D.Berendes prefers to stay B/C - we will discuss the drop 3rd strike rule later - do we want to limit the # of teams per community, leaning 2 max rule. -- D.Berendes + T.Hartwell to connect for FB 'advirtising' -- Add a volunteer requirement at 8U - more to come. Try Softball night * Something we can do, but on a low cost effort for the first try **GymSpace** * Something before Fall Ball too? -- T.Hartwell feels that FallBall would be an easier path.
