MSWHL MEETING MINUTES
September 13, 2005

President Joanne Lukasik called meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Sign-in sheet was passed around. August meeting minutes were reviewed; Carrie Sirola motioned to pass and Deb R. seconded.

Treasurers Report
Joanne informed the Board that the bank recovered the shredded transaction documents. At this time there is $2,935.71 in the account as the team league fee deposits have not been made yet. Joanne will file paperwork with the bank to change the league name on the account once the checks have been deposited.

A reimbursement check from the Ruicci Cup has not been cashed by the Harrow County Blues. Carrie will follow-up with them to see if it was received. If not, league will issue another in Canadian funds.

The league will be switching servers for the web site but the online transaction requires a credit card. The Board may need to look in to getting a debit card from the bank. More details to follow

Vice-Presidents Report
V.P. Terry Mathews spoke about the developmental clinic that was held this past Sunday, September 11. The nine participants were very pleased with the clinic, and are looking forward to another session. We are looking to hold two clinics in the month of October. Once the dates are finalized, the league will try to get the word out and increase attendance.

Secretarys Report
Secretary Renee Dobrzelewski advised the members some teams still had not submitted their contact information. Teams need to email Renee with contact info, including home address, home and/or cell phone, email address, jersey colors, arena, and ice time. Information is needed from:
Stingrays
Steel Magnolias
Iron Maidens
Michigan Devils
Phantoms
Lansing Crush
Ann Arbor Flames
Predators

ALL teams need to send a list of their players and jersey numbers to Ann Dobija so she can update the web site. Also, Ann needs the Schedulers from Intermediate A & B and Recreation A to send their schedules for posting.

Old Business
The Board discussed establishing guidelines for penalty minutes and decided a limit would not be set at this time. However, the Board is VERY aware of the high number of penalties taken, particularly in certain divisions, and will be monitoring this closely throughout the season. It is our recommendation in cases of excessive minutes that the Division Director approach both the team and the player on the matter. Also, Statisticians need to be reviewing the score sheets as they come in for large numbers of penalty minutes so they can advise the Director and/or Board accordingly.

New Business
The Goalie Substitution Policy was instituted last year to aid teams when their goaltender was unable to play for them. To make it easier to locate available sub goalies, Deb R. will assist the league in maintaining a list of interested goalies on the web site. **Reminder goaltenders may NOT sub in divisions below them. Directors will be asked to poll their teams and see which goalies are interested in subbing, and in what divisions they feel comfortable playing.

Honesty and Respect, Always!
~ Renee Dobrzelewski
   MSWHL Secretary

Next meeting is October 18 at 7PM in Eddie Edgar!
