Metro Skaters Hockey League
Meeting - June 08, 2005
MSHL Minutes
June 8, 2005

Meeting Administration
President Joanne Lukasik called the meeting to order. Meeting minutes from
April were reviewed; Amy Martin motioned to pass the minutes and Carrie Sirola
seconded.

Treasurer's Report
Kristen Drabicki was not present but had sent the Board a copy of the current
bank statement and the bankbook for the year. Current balance is $2,810.71,
including a payment for the division champion t-shirts being made by Suburban
Sports.

Old Business
The Ice Dogs received a check from the Smoothie Kings to cover the cost of the
referees for the game that was scheduled but not played (Smoothie King forfeit).

The 2005-06 MSHL Board of Directors is as follows:
$   Joanne Lukasik, President
$ Terry Mathews, Vice-President and Ruicci Cup Co-Chair
$ Amy Martin, Vice-President and Ruicci Cup Co-Chair
$   Deb Ruzsvanszki, Treasurer
$   Renee Dobrzelewski, Secretary
$   Carrie Sirola, MAHA Representative

Joanne will work with the league's bank so the paperwork can be updated to
reflect Deb's name as check signer though the statements will go to Joanne.

A reminder that games scheduled after the Ruicci Cup must still be played.
Failure to show for a game will result in a forfeit for the team that does not
show. Three forfeits to a team in a season are grounds for suspension, per the
league rules.

New Business
Letters of intent are due to the league by July 31. ALL teams - new and
returning - must submit a letter of intent and preliminary roster to Joanne
Lukasik no later than July 31. Indicate teams' choice of divisions, player
names, and previous team and/or years of experience.

An email was sent to the Board by Laura Slenzak, inquiring about the possibility of realigning the divisions by geography. While the Board recognizes some players do not wish to travel to other arenas for games, the varied skill levels between divisions would not make a re-alignment feasible nor fair for those involved.

There has been increasing concern about highly skilled players skating in
recreational or intermediate divisions. The Board is aware of specific players on teams causing inequities within their divisions. A rule will be instituted restricting the use of ex-college level (or highly skilled) players in divisions other than Advanced A or B.

Amy Martin spoke to the Board about the Chicks with Sticks league run during the summer. Amy has been approached by Bob & Diane Moore to take over operation of the league. The Board discussed the possibility of having the Chicks league under the MSHL umbrella. The league is very interested in working with novice skaters, and sees the summer league as a good option for those who would be interested in continuing to skate after the beginner's clinics that the MSHL has begun to offer.

The Board authorized the purchase of MS Front Page for Ann Dobija who maintains the league web-site.

Terry Mathews motioned to adjourn the meeting, and Amy Martin seconded.
The next meeting is scheduled for July 21st in the Eddie Edgar Arena @ 6:30 p.m.

Honesty and Respect Always,
Renee Dobrzelewski
MSHL Secretary
